Follow The "Golden Bear" for a Golfing Holiday to Remember. (An article by Lee Gillett).

If you are looking for a fantastic golfing holiday destination then you need to consider following the "Golden Bear" to the Polaris World golf resorts in the Murcia region of Spain. There are now 6 of the resorts open in the area and every resort has at least one immaculate 18 hole golf course designed by the "Golden Bear" himself, the great Jack Nicklaus.

Although a golfing trip to a Polaris resort with your golfing buddies would be a great "boys only" event, the resorts are actually ideal if you want (or perhaps that should be "have") to take the wife and kids along too, as most resorts now boast fantastic bars, a multitude of restaurants serving varied cuisine, and loads of communal swimming pools and children's play areas.

In fact the La Torre and Mar Menor resorts are both also home to fantastic 5 star InterContinental Hotels which have spas, gym facilities and beauty treatments available.

However, it doesn't really matter which resort you choose to stay on because the aforementioned free shuttle bus service which runs between the resorts is available all day and late into the evening, and all the facilities of every resort are available to you.

Also, no resort is further than 15 minutes away (and one only 5 minutes away) from luxurious sandy beaches, with historic and bustling towns such as Murcia and Cartagena all within easy reach - ideal for shopping trips with the wife (or maybe the wife shops while you play golf).

Plus most resorts are only around 15 minutes away from San Javier (MJV) airport or 50 minutes from Alicante airport (ALC). Combine all of this with the amazing Spanish weather and you realise that the Polaris World resorts and surrounding areas have everything you need for a fantastic golfing and family holiday.
